Jessie Brach

Jessie Brach, 87, of South Pawling Street, Hagaman passed away Wednesday evening at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, New York on October 14, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Bakuzonis Kuczynski. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Brach worked as a seamstress for many years for several mills throughout the area, retiring in 1978. She raised and sold gladiolas from her home in Hagaman where she was known as ?The Gladiola Lady.? Mrs. Brach served as Treasurer of the Hagaman Events Committee and was active with the Montgomery County Public Health Association at one time. She was a communicant of St. Stephen?s Roman Catholic Church, where she was also a Rosarian. Mrs. Brach was a member of senior groups in Perth and Hagaman. She was former president and treasurer of the Hagaman Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the Eastern Gladiolas Association. Mrs. Brach had a great sense of humor and loved the sounds of laughter. She was an inspiration to us all, not only for her zest for life but for the love that she shared, and she will be missed dearly. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey DaBiere, and her brother, Joseph Kuczynski. Her loving family includes three daughters, Eileen DaBiere and her husband Robert of Perth, New York; Lorraine Bull and her husband Wayne of Ballston Lake, New York; and Janice Brach of Hagaman, New York; one sister, Sister Marietta Kuczynski, C.S.J. of Schenectady; three grandchildren, Deana Bull, Mandee Bull and Robert DaBiere; one great grandson Jeffrey DaBiere; her companion, John Dybowski of Hagaman, New York and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Stephen?s Roman Catholic Church, North Pawling Street, Hagaman with the Rev. Ronald Matulewicz as celebrant. Friends and relatives are invited and may call Friday evening from 5 until 7 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in St. Casimir?s Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, New York, 12205.
