Dawn Marie Leamon
June 5th, 1961 - January 3rd, 2006
Dawn Marie Leamon, 44, of Borden Road, passed away Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary?s Hospital with her loving family at her side. Dawn bravely fought a four and a half year battle with courage and with the love and support of family and friends. Born at St. Mary?s Hospital on June 5, 1961, the daughter of Paul and Henrietta Williams Svenson, she lived in this area her entire life. A homemaker, she assisted her husband in the operation of the family business, Leamon Hay & Straw. Prior to that, Dawn worked at Breton Industries in Johnstown. In her spare time, she enjoyed making crafts and floral designs. Also, she loved to go camping and play bingo and was a frequent visitor to the casinos. Dawn was a member of the Randall Christian Church. On November 2, 1996, she was united in marriage to Harold R. Leamon. In addition to her husband, Dawn leaves behind her sons, Kenneth W. Bowley III and his fiancé, Alisha M. Taylor, and Jared Robert Leamon, at home; her parents, mother and step father, Henrietta and Leonard Prall of Randall, father and step mother Paul and June Svenson of Fultonville; step brother, Alan Prall of Rural Grove; step sisters, Kathryn Baird of Monroe, North Carolina, Cheryl Greene of Midland, North Carolina, Wanda Craig of Leonex, Georgia, Susan Blackwood of Fultonville and Tiffany Prall of Gloversville; her father and mother in law, Gerald and Doris Leamon of Webster, Florida and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday at 11:00 am at the Randall Christian Church, Route 5S. The Revs. Eric Handel and R.W. Williams, co-officiating. Interment is in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 3-7 pm Friday at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville. It is the request of her family that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Randall Christian Church, or the Amsterdam Community Cancer Center, Riverfront Mall. Dawn?s family would like to thank the caring staff of Maria Hall, St. Mary?s Hospital and the Community Cancer Center for their kindness.
