Elizabeth W. Jones

Mrs. Elizabeth W. Jones, 86 years old, of Manny?s Corners Road, died Sunday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Mrs. Jones was born November 17, 1919 in Herkimer, a daughter of Henry and Emily Hall Werthman, moving to the Amsterdam area in 1942. She was employed by the former Mohawk Sportswear in Amsterdam for many years. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Hagaman United Methodist Church and a past president of the Hagaman Seniors. She enjoyed the Adirondacks and loved to fish and go snowmobiling. On May 30, 1942 she married Robert Jones. He died in November of 2002. Her daughter, Amy Chrysler Stadler died November 23 of this year. Mrs. Jones is survived by three brothers, Burton Werthman of Little Falls, John Werthman of New York Mills and Joe Werthman of Aurora, Colorado; her sister, Lois Ruffalo of Herkimer; her grandson, Sean D. Chrysler and his wife Missy of Amsterdam; her son-in-law, Timothy Stadler of Amsterdam and three great grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Chrysler and Payton Stadler. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mrs. Jones was also predeceased by her brother, Paul Werthman, and two sisters, Helen Dzimitrowicz and Emily Werthman. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Cynthia Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Hagaman Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8pm at the funeral home.
