Michael Clarence Averill

Michael Clarence Averill, 81, of Denver Colorado, died July 31, 2016, in his home. Mr. Averill was born July 31, 1935 in Deadwood , South Dakota to Clarence and Isabelle (Smith) Averill. He attended Deadwood High School, then moved to Colorado, where he graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1955. He then joined the U. S. Marine Corps in 1956, serving until 1959. Mike spent his life in the retail pet business, eventually owning his own store. Mike†™s hobbies included back yard barbeques and many outdoor activities, mainly getting away for a weekend camping trip. He also enjoyed peaceful evenings listening to music from Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Herb Albert & the Tiajuana Brass, and many other classical tunes. He is survived by a brother and his wife, Robert and Susan; son and wife Clifford and Janice, son and wife David and Julie, and daughter Candice. Mike has 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clarence and Isabelle; his brother, Ronald; and his son, Thomas; and a very special friend, Brad Carrington.
