Mrs. Marion B. Childs, 82 of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Gloversville died Saturday at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. She was born September 4, 1922 in Gloversville, daughter of the late Roy and Florence Miller Bradt. Mrs. Childs was educated in Gloversville schools and employed as a statistician in the city assessor?s office in Des Moines, where she had resided for nearly fourty years. Survivors include her children: Jon D. Childs of Johnstown; Michael L. Childs of Kezer Falls, Maine; Jeffrey S. Childs of Gloversville; and Patrick H. Childs of Charlestown, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; two great-grand children; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters: Doris Allen and Nancy Encell; and one brother: Roy Bradt. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11am at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville with the Rev. R. W. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11am prior to the service. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave. Ext., Gloversville or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Albany, NY 12211.
