Travis John Krauss
August 14th, 1997 - August 1st, 2005
Travis John Krauss, 7, of Vandenburgh Point Road, Town of Mayfield, passed away Monday at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a sudden illness. Born in Niskayuna on August 14, 1997, the son of Melissa Morin and Thomas E. Krauss, Sr., he was a second grade student at Mayfield Elementary School. He loved to play baseball and was a member of the Mayfield School Youth League and played on the Village Laundromat Team. Travis was happiest in the outdoors, where he swam at the lake, played on the trampoline, boating and spent time with best pals Alex and Erin. Always an inquisitive boy, he asked many questions and was helpful around his house, where he enjoyed watching things grow in the garden with his mom. Travis loved people and was an affectionate child who gave hugs and cuddles. He was a communicant with his family at St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church, in Amsterdam, where he was baptized. In addition to his parents, he will be missed by his sister; Chanise M. Beyer of Mayfield; half brother Thomas E. Krauss Jr., of Gloversville; half sister Cheyenne M. Krauss of Northville; maternal grandmother Linda Miller of Lake Placid; maternal grandfather, John C. Morin of Summit; maternal great grandmothers: Calla Landry of Lake Placid and Lucille Morin of Nanuet NY; three uncles: Matthew Morin of Calvert City, KY, Kenneth Miller of Martinsburgh WV, and John Morin III of New Windsor, NY; an aunt, Monica Miller of Mason City, IA; great aunt and uncle, Jeannine and William Ayres of Huntington Station, LI and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of the Angels, which will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:15 am at St. Mary?s Church, 156 East Main Street Amsterdam. The Very Rev. James Gulley, who baptized Travis, will celebrate. Calling hours are Friday evening from 5-8 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment will take place in St. John The Baptist Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Pediatric ICU at Albany Medical Center in care of the funeral home, in Travis? name.
