August 14th, 1953 - October 11th, 2016
Mr. David E. Kreisel, Sr., 63, of Midline Road, Amsterdam died suddenly on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital. A lifelong area resident, David was born on August 14, 1953 the son of the late E. George Kreisel, Jr. and Beverly Wood Kreisel. He attended Perth schools and served proudly with the United States Navy from 1972 until 1975 aboard the USS Kiska. Upon his return to Amsterdam, David worked for Fiber Glass Industries before returning to the family business. For over 30 years, David worked alongside his family as the roofing foreman at Kreisel Home Improvement General Contracting. A roofer by trade, he enjoyed the job immensely and was proud of the work his company accomplished. An avid outdoorsman, David loved being outside and working on his family property. On July 11, 1999 he was united in marriage to Paula Coulter Kreisel. Together for 17 years, David loved Paula unconditionally and was a wonderful husband. He will be remembered for his love of life, his family and his country. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Harold Coulter; and recently his father, George Kreisel. In addition to his wife, Paula, survivors include his mother, Beverly Kreisel; three children, David Kreisel, Jr. and his wife Amy, Shauna Duesler and Kelly Kreisel (Tony Carr); six grandchildren, Katelynn, Brayden, Gavin, Haley, Gunner and Quinn; two brothers, Jeffrey Kreisel and his wife Kathy and Michael Kreisel; his mother-in-law, Laura Coulter; and a brother-in-law, Richard Coulter and his wife JoAnn; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
