Lorraine Mary Hale
March 26th, 1921 - October 8th, 2016
Lorraine Mary Hale, 95, of Gloversville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare surrounded by her loving family. Born March 26, 1921 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Belza Suda. Lorraine was a member of the former St. James Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Foresters Lodge and the Chummy Eight Card Club. Lorraine worked at Montgomery Ward in Gloversville and in the cafeteria at Estee Middle School in Gloversville for many years until her retirement. She was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold who will be dearly missed. Survivors include her daughter Joye Haskins (David) of Gloversville; grandchildren Jim Pianelli (Sara) and Stephanie Selmer; great grandchildren Lauryn Pianelli, Karsyn Pianelli, Brandon Selmer and Dean Selmer; nieces Janice Esse, Phyllis Wright and Kathryn Kempe and nephew Emil Suda. Lorraine is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert F. Hale to whom she married on October 12, 1941 and celebrated 69 wonderful years together before his passing in 2011; Brothers Joseph Suda, Emil Suda and Frank Suda and Sister Anna Stoutner. A calling hour to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 3-4 P.M. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A celebration of life service will follow at 4 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Almleaf officiating. A graveside service will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13, 2016 10 A.M. at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare Activity Department, 847 County Hwy 122, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to Grace Lutheran Church General Fund, 1 W. Montgomery Street, Johnstown, NY 12095. The Haskins family would like to thank Visiting Nurses, Wells House Daycare, Michelle Rodgers of CHC and the Fulton Center for their excellent care, love and support though this difficult time.
