Walter C. Smith
October 28th, 1931 - March 26th, 2005
Mr.Walter C. Smith, age 73, of 242 Bleecker Street, Gloversville NY, died March 26 at North East Center For Special Care in Lake Katrine. Mr. Smith was born October 5, 1931 in Galway, the son of Walter and Lucy Sherman Smith. He was educated in the Galway schools and served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. He worked in various local tanneries and was an expert color matcher. He retired in 1997 from Townsend Leather. He was also a former Foresters Lodge member. He is survived by his wife, Edna Dingman Smith, and son John W. Smith, both of Gloversville. His sister Lena Engles of Broadalbin also survives, along with three grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Charmaine Smith and JoAnn Smith. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium, 40 Fehr Ave., Schenectady. There will be no services.
