April 19th, 1960 - February 26th, 2005
Mr. Craig A. Mackey, age 44, of Gloversville, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 due to injuries he sustained in a snowmobile accident on Caroga Lake. He was born April 19, 1960 in Fitchburg, MA, the son of Richard and Beverly Brothers Mackey. A 1978 graduate of Gloversville High School, Craig and his father owned and operated the former North Street Leather Company for several years in the 1980?s. He later became employed at Pearl Leather Finishers Inc. of Johnstown for thirteen years until his sudden death. Mr. Mackey was a member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church and the Twilight Bowling League. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and vacationing with his daughter and family and friends. Survivors include his daughter Nicole Lynn Mackey, his parents Richard and Berverly Mackey, his maternal grandmother Florence P. Brothers, all of Gloversville; his brother Michael K. Mackey and his wife Catherine of Temecula, CA; his sister Sandra J. Price of Richfield Springs, NY; three nephews, Dustin Atty, Derek Atty and Taylor Atty, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
