James M. Mitchell, 25, of 93 Barclay Street, Canajoharie, died suddenly on Saturday, January 29. James was born June 17, 1979 in Gloversville, was educated in the Gloversville schools, and graduated from Canajoharie High School in 1998. He worked as a maintenance person at Lee Publishing in Palatine. He will be fondly remembered as an accomplished artist, an avid camper, and for his skill with video games. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Joanne Cook Maxson of Gloversville and her husband Edward, and his father Stanley J. Mitchell and his wife Sherry Donnenwirth of Canajoharie. He leaves behind his brother Brian Castleberry of Virginia Beach, VA, maternal grandmother Margaret Shibley of Johnstown, and girlfriend Cathy Clinton of Fort Plain, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. James was the grandson of the late David Shibley and Jay and Regina Gineckei Mitchell. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, where a funeral will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematory in Schenectady.
