Carole Sue Warner
April 9th, 1951 - June 20th, 2016
Ms. Carole Sue Warner, 65, formerly of Gilbert St., Johnstown, passed away Monday morning June 20, 2016 at St Mary's Hospital, following a decade-long battle with Cancer. Her loves were her sons, reading, crocheting and her fur babies (cats). She was born in Gloversville, NY on April 9, 1951 a daughter of the late James and Lillian Welcome. She attended Gloversville High School. Through the years, she was employed as a waitress at numerous restaurants including the Rainbow, Antlers and Zacharies. She also worked for Coleco, Johnstown Knitting Mill and Lee Dye. She married David Warner in November 1976 and they were married 25 years. They divorced in March 2002. She later found Barry Hawkyard and they spent 14 years together. He passed in October 2014. Survivors include her two sons, David A Johnson of Johnstown, NY and Christopher Warner, who is in the Army and currently of Lorton, VA. Cherished grandchildren, Arizona Horton, Stephen Warner and David Warner. Beloved sisters include Lois Hayes of Fonda, Darlene Hogan of Canajoharie and Shirley Kirby of Amsterdam. Carole also had 2 older brothers who left this world before her; Richard Dutcher and Peter Dutcher. A small service will be held on Saturday June 25, 2016 at 10:00A.M. at St Johns Church, 1 North Market Street, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Susan G Komen Foundation or a local animal shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
