Madeline Bubniak
October 21st, 1917 - June 18th, 2016
Mrs. Madeline Yurkon Bubniak, 98, formerly of Storrie St., Amsterdam, passed away Saturday morning June 18, 2016 at the River Ridge Living Center LLC, following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on October 21, 1917 a daughter of the late Andrew and Isabel Gatalis Yurkon. Madeline was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1936 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She was employed as a Seamstress for the former Chalmers Knitting Mill in Amsterdam retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of the former St. Casimir's Church in Amsterdam. Madeline was also a member of the St. Casimir's Seniors and the Amsterdam Free Library. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees. She married Frank P. Bubniak on June 28, 1942. He passed away on June 9, 2014. Survivors include her two daughters, Nancy (Jack) Vidulich of Tribes Hill, NY and Katherine (Lou) Pasquarelli of Matthews, N.C. Cherished grandchildren, Jack Vidulich, Peter (Tisha) Vidulich, Lou (Cindy) Pasquarelli and Daniel (Josh) Pasquarelli. Great-grandchildren, Patrick and Victoria Vidulich, Michael and Nicholas Pasquarelli. One niece, Mary Alaniz and one nephew Andrew Yurkon. Cousins also survive. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leon Yurkon and Dr. Edward Yurkon and a sister, Violet McCormik. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Fr. Pascal "Pat" Iannotti presiding. Interment of cremated remains will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday June 22, 2016 from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Amsterdam Free Library, 28 Church St., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
