Linda Lee Wemple

FONDA - Linda Lee Wemple, 71, of Rifes Lane, Fonda, passed away on Friday evening, April 15, 2016 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady following a short illness. She was born on January 9, 1945 in Corinth, New York to the late Kenneth (pre-deceased) and Margurite Shippee. Graduated from Hadley-Luzerne school. She was united in marriage on November 14th, 1964 with Barney J. Wemple Sr., in Northville. Linda's last professional employment was with Excel, Johnstown and was a nurse, waitress, dump truck driver and Sears manager. She was a member of the Town of Mohawk Fire Department Auxiliary. Linda first and foremost priority was the well-being and happiness of her loved ones. She shined when in the presence of her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of love to her family members. Linda is survived by her husband, Barney J. Wemple, Sr., her mother Margurite, her son Barney J Wemple Jr. and wife Ashleigh, son Jon M. Wemple and wife Marina, son, William E. Wemple and Kathleen, and daughter Jolene M. King and husband Ryan, 7 grandchildren, Quinn, Matthew, Christopher, Natalie, Keegan, Chloie, and Ethan, brother Skip Shippee and wife Carol, sister Shiela Ostrander, sister Christine Bulger and husband Ron, Maxine Husvar, sister Marcia Shippee, sister Melissa Jones and husband Ken, Marie Snedecker, brother Tim Shippee and wife Mary, Yvonne Shippee, sister Corrine Bradt, and many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-Laws. The family will receive friends at Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 1- 3 pm with funeral services to follow at the funeral home at 3 p.m. with Chaplain Tom Flander, officiating. A private burial service at Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda will be at a later date. Memorials may be sent directly to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
