Caroline L. Walsh

Mrs. Caroline L. Walsh, 87, of Ft. Hunter, NY, passed away on Friday November 16, 2018 at her home following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam on June 23, 1931 a daughter of the late Al and Margaret Bollacker Hopkins. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Amsterdam Schools. Caroline worked for many years at the former Coleco Industries and later Hasbro Co. in Amsterdam. She was a hardworking, loving and giving person. She always put her family first and took care of her home. She enjoyed playing Bingo and loved being a part of the Sir William Johnson Senior Citizens. She made many friends there and enjoyed their company throughout the years. She married Raymond D. Walsh Sr. on June 17, 1950, He passed away on February 3, 2005. They were married over 50 years. Caroline continued to take great care of her husband when he became ill; postponing his need of nursing home care. Survivors include his children, Raymond Walsh Jr. and his wife Michelle of Ft. Johnson, NY, Roy Walsh and his wife Lorna of Fonda, NY, Frederick Walsh and his wife Janna of Ft. Hunter and Johns Walsh (Audra Kubly) of Ft. Hunter, NY. Cherished grandchildren, Scott Walsh, Sean Walsh, Jamie McFaul, Carver Walsh, Malaina Russell, Frederick Walsh Jr., Davin Walsh, Olivia Simmons, Jason Walsh and Cheyenne Walsh. Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Caroline was predeceased by a son Randy Allan Walsh in 1968. Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment of Cremated remains will be in Hagaman Mills Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
