November 11th, 1922 - February 22nd, 2020
Mrs. Adelaida Albarran Rivera, 97, of Elizabeth Street, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after a brief illness. She was born in Yauco, Quebradas, Puerto Rico on November 11, 1922 to the late Fundador Albarran and Juana Josefina Feliciano Pascual. She was united in marriage on July 21, 1946 to Mr. Ramon Rivera Caraballo, they remained lovingly married until his passing in November of 2002. Aldelaida and Ramon relocated to the Amsterdam area in 1952 to raise their family. She was a communicant of St Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and later Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church. In addition to her parents and loving husband Adelaida was predeceased by her daughter Mariam Venegas. She is survived by daughters Prida (Luis) Rivera of Amsterdam, NY and Norma (Luis) Grevely of Orlando, FL as well as her grandchildren Luis River Jr., Joseph Rivera, Lissette Grevely, Daniel Grevely, Luis Grevely Jr., Michelle Nunez, and Alex Venegas. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited and may call on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 11:00am at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home. Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery following services.
