Stefano J. Simeone

Stefano J. Simeone, of Amsterdam, NY passed away Monday morning February 1, 2021 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on October 22, 1926 to Domenico and Philomena (Napoli) Simeone. Stefano was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and served proudly in the US Navy during World War II. For many years he worked for the federal government before retiring to enjoy traveling, gardening and spending time with his family, to whom he was completely devoted. His positive outlook, inquisitive nature and joy for life was unparalleled, and will forever carry his spirit. Left to treasure Stefano’s memory are his loving wife of 71 years, Elvie, and their children Dr. Ronald (Lynn) Simeone, of Albany, NY, Valerie S. (Wayne) Dodge, of Wilton, CT. and his cherished grandchildren; Zachary, Alexandra and Erika; brother Mario Simeone as well as many nieces and nephews. Stefano is predeceased by two brothers Alfred and Ferdinand. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic Funeral services will be held by invitation only on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1:30PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Public services will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Stefano’s name to Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence St, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
