Mrs. Jean O. Scharf, 86, of Milton Avenue, Amsterdam died on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Born in Norwich, England on July 6, 1934 she was the only daughter of the late Alfred and Laura Miller Turner. Jean immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 and began a beautiful life with her husband, Douglas. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Mary Martha Circle and enjoyed making prayer shawls. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Pacifico and Laurie (Thomas) Cetnar; her daughter-in-law, Mary Scharf; grandchildren, Brendon Scharf, McKenzie Scharf, Nathan Cetnar, Rachel Cetnar, Joshua Pacifico and Alexandra (Brandi) Pacifico; and two great granddaughters, Laney and Marley. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas and her children, Kelvin and Diane. Services are at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, 25 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
