Nancy M. Carlson, RN

Nancy Mead Carlson RN, of Niskayuna, NY died peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2022 with her husband by her side. She was 64 years old. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 29, 1957 she was the daughter of the late Dr. Warren W. Mead and Phyllis Bahn Mead. A lifelong area resident, Nancy graduated from Niskayuna High School in 1973. She furthered her education at Jr. College of Albany and Russell Sage becoming a Registered Nurse and obtaining her degree in psychology. Nancy had a kind heart and spent her life caring for people. She had worked at several different places including Albany Medical Center, St. Clare’s Hospital and the Cataract Care Center. Most recently she was employed by Living Resources of Albany. She enjoyed annual trips to Cape Cod, camping, boating, crafting and needle point. Nancy was a gourmet cook always preparing exquisite meals. Nancy also loved animals and often supported many shelters during her life time. Her greatest joy was spending time with her best friend and husband Jeffrey, and her dear friends. Nancy will be remembered as being a dedicated wife, sister, aunt and friend to many, all whom will miss her dearly. Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey; her siblings, Roger (Melissa) Mead, Mark Mead and Karen Mead; her nieces and nephews, Eric Carlson, Erin Carlson, Layla Carlson, Lauren Pyle, Ryan Pyle, Ronnie Mead and Julian Mead; her beloved yorkies, Lou and Ernie; and several dear friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, David Jeffrey Mead and Sally Anne Mead. Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
