Sharon Lee Fisher

Sharon Lee Fisher, 73, of Amsterdam, NY passed away on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY with her loving family by her side. Sharon was born on June 11th, 1949, in Amsterdam, NY to the late Anthony and Mary (Beagle) Sheckton. She was raised in Amsterdam and attended Wilbur H. Lynch High School. After school, Sharon’s focus was taking care of her family and maintaining her home. Towards the end of her life, she worked in house keeping at St Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. Sharon was a devoted Christian and enjoyed reading her bible during her free time. She loved to go on bike rides and long walks with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharon’s biggest joy in life was being a grandmother, and she spent any chance she could with them. She was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Mary Sheckton; son Ed Fisher; daughter Michelle Phelps; brothers Sunny and Buddy Weil, and Anthony Sheckton; and sisters Helene Weil and Harriet Hemstreet. Sharon is survived by her children John Fisher, Holly Fields, and Duane Fisher; grandchildren Janelle Welke, John Lasher Jr., Sabrina Lasher, Dan Fisher, Chris Lasher, Krystal Phelps, Dylan Fisher, Miranda Phelps, Cody Fisher, Zandra Fisher, and Aleea Fisher; siblings Lynn Fry, Lorraine Gatman, and John Sheckton; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. “Be not afraid of life. Friends and family are invited and may call on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, from 11a.m to 12p.m at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Immediately following the calling hour, there will be a service of remembrance at 12p.m with Reverend Kathy Reese officiating. After the service, the family invites everyone to a celebration of life at the Perth Town Hall, 1849 County Hwy 107, Amsterdam, Ny 12010, for continued fellowship and refreshments.
