Dennis W. Cuyler

Dennis W. Cuyler, 83, of Hagaman, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, at St Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, NY with his family by his side. Dennis was born on March 4th, 1940, in Amsterdam, NY to the late Louis and Bella (Vandersluys) Cuyler. He attended local schools and joined the United States Army in 1958. He was honorably discharged in 1964 and returned to the United States, where he worked for General Electric in Schenectady, NY for many years. After he returned, he met the love of his life Joyce, and they were married on December 10th, 1966. They shared 26 beautiful years together before her passing on January 16th, 1993. Dennis loved spending his free time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being a member of the Rocky Ridge Hunting Camp with his lifelong friends for over 50 years. Dennis was predeceased by his wife Joyce Cuyler; parents Louis and Bella Cuyler; and brothers Louis and Gerard Cuyler. He is survived by his daughters Kathy Cuyler, Paula (Roger) Baldwin, and Denise (Jim Richards) Cuyler; grandchildren Courtney (Scott) Sitterly, Tony (Amber) Wessell, Christine (Evan) Fiet, Sandi (Ed) Nevulis, Roger (Katy) Baldwin, RJ (Susan Laska) Bailey, and Jasmine (Robbie Baron) Bailey; brothers Gary (Carol) Cuyler and Steve Nichols; as well as many greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service of remembrance will take place on Friday, July 28th, 2023, at 1pm with Pastor Tom Flanders officiating at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family and friends are invited and may call from 11am to 1pm. Immediately following the service, Dennis will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Joyce at Hagaman Mills Cemetery.
