Bethany Kendra Allen
July 11th, 1977 - September 17th, 2023
Bethany Kendra Allen, 46, of Amsterdam, New York, passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2023 at St. Mary's Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family. Bethany was born in Amsterdam on July 11, 1977 to Maurice Kenneth and Patricia Ann (Gizzo) Allen. Bethany graduated from Amsterdam High School, and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. As an undergraduate at UMass she studied abroad in London, England for a semester, and graduated cum laude. She furthered her education with the University of Illinois, where she graduated with her Master's Degree in Business Administration. Bethany made the most out of life. Throughout her life Bethany always enjoyed attending concerts whenever she could. She loved listening to music (hip-hop and Lionel Richie), and watching sports (N.Y., of course!). She loved to travel too, including wonderful trips to Puerto Rico, Nice, and her favorite, Barcelona. No matter where she was, or what she was doing, you could rarely find her without a big, contagious smile on her face. Bethany leaves behind her loving family including her father, Ken Allen; her fiancé, Josue "Huffy" Yuret; her beloved canine companions, Macho, Sunny, and Tucker; her uncle, Richard (Katie) Allen and aunt, Lucille (Irving) Sparrow; her cousins, Marlena (Jeff) Turner, Michele (Sean) Messick, and DJ (Roshan Perera) Gallup; as well as many more cousins and friends too numerous to mention. Sadly, Bethany was predeceased by her mother, Patricia "Patty" Ann Allen, who passed away earlier this year. Both Beth and her mom will always be remembered as beautiful and kind human beings. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 9:30AM until 11AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A memorial service will be held following the calling period at 11AM with The Very Rev. O. Robert De Martinis E.V. as Celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made in Bethany's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a local animal shelter of one's choosing.
