Antonia Robles, 80, of Amsterdam passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on August 25, 1943 in Fajardo, PR to Dolores Esquilin and Clotiede Solero. In 1963 Antonia was united in marriage to Alejandro Robles, together they relocated to Amsterdam NY in the same year. Antonia was a devoted homemaker, and a loving wife and mother. In her spare time she loved to garden and enjoyed harvesting as many vegetables from her garden as possible. She was also proud of her flower garden, particularly the roses. Antonia also loved music and enjoyed listening to it often. More than anything Antonia loved spending time with her family, the most important thing in the world to her. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alejandro, their sons: Alex Jr. (Patrice), and Marvin (Lorraine) Robles, daughters: Madeline (Jr.), Arlene, and Anita Robles as well as her beloved grandchildren: Michael, Alexandra, Marina, and Isaiah and Nyasia. She also leaves behind her great granddaughter Ellie and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Antonia was preceded in death by her siblings: Jose Esquilin Solero, Alejandro Esquilin Solero, and Maria Estelle Esquilin Solero. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Funeral Homes 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, January 10 at the funeral home prior to the service. Antonia will be laid to rest at St Michael’s Cemetery following the service.
