George "Bunny" B. Donaldson, Jr.

George "Bunny" Barkley Donaldson, Jr. 76, of Northville, passed away on May 3, 2024, at the Fulton Center for Rehab and Healthcare in Gloversville after a recent diagnosis of Lewy Dementia. George was born on October 27, 1947, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam. He was the oldest of three children born to George Barkley Donaldson, Sr and Helen Rayder Donaldson, both deceased. He grew up in Fultonville, graduated from Fonda Fultonville High School and attended Morrisville State College. He was a Radio Shack Manager for many years and later retired from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department as a communications Specialist. George had many hobbies and “could fix anything!” He was a Ham radio operator, a member of the lazy 8’s remote control airplane club and a volunteer fireman. He loved music and his knowledge of music spanned five decades. A local DJ, he played music for many area events. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar for pleasure. He loved cars and airplanes; he had antique cars that he enjoyed taking to local car events. A longtime member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) in Oshkosh, WI, he volunteered for that association for more than 30 years. George conducted seminars on building airplane wings and did all around maintenance on the EAA grounds. George is survived by his fiancé, Nancy Edwards; his much-loved granddaughter, Jennifer Grybos; sisters, Rosanna Arminio (David) and Suzanne Luke (Richard). He was predeceased by his two wives, Angelina Gentile Donaldson and Cecelia McNamee Donaldson. The family has chosen to have a celebration of Geroge’s life in the near future, which details will be posted on George’s Facebook page. George care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
