Louisa Faiiu Slater, 75, formerly of Third Avenue, Canajoharie, New York died suddenly on Monday, September 27, 2021 at St. Mary’s Healthcare. Born on February 15, 1946 in Apia, Western Samoa she was educated and lived in Hawaii for a brief time. In 1974, she met the love of her life, Francis E. Slater. Together for 42 years, they had a blessed marriage and made their home on Third Avenue in Canajoharie. Sadly that union ended with his passing on August 29, 2016. She will be remembered for her positive outlook on life, and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her three children, Edward Slater, Joseph Slater and Cecilia Slater; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 1:30p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 115 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
