Lorraine Shaul

Ms. Lorraine Shaul , 75 , of Canajoharie, NY passed away October 21, 2021 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY. She was born on February 14, 1946 to Mr. Robert E Shaul and Mrs. Clara Bell Shaul of Charleston Four Corners. Lorraine attended local schools graduating from Canajoharie High School, the class of 1964; she later attended Spencer Business School in Schenectady, NY. She was employed by a number of local organizations including Coleco where she manufactured Cabbage Patch Kids Dolls and Video Game Consoles. She was also employed in Food Service at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY. Lorraine was later employed as a cab driver for the Utica Cab Company, where she got many of her most interesting stories. She became a New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and worked for many years at both the Mid County Volunteer Ambulance Corp in Canajoharie, and Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Lorraine was a devout member of the Christian Faith, a NY Yankees fan, and an animal lover, especially cats and dogs. Lorraine loved being around family and friends and enjoyed playing a variety of board and card games. She especially enjoyed beating her brother at backgammon, a game they would play for hours at a time. Lorraine loved traveling to the casino to play bingo and blackjack. Family was very important to Lorraine. Lorraine is survived by her brothers Gerald E. (Iris) Shaul and William R. Shaul as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Shaul and Clara Bronk. The family will receive friends at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. A Service of Remembrance will take place at Lenz and Betz Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 1:00PM. Interment will take place at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery immediately following the service.
