Betty Brooks

Mrs. Betty J. Brooks, 92, of Palatine Bridge passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2024 at St Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. She was born on June 1, 1931 to the late Fred W. Jones and Luella Putnam Jones of Mapletown, NY. A lifelong area resident Betty attended local schools. She graduated in 1949 and a week later, on July 5th 1949 began a 37 year long career in the Purchasing Department of Beech-Nut where she stayed until retiring. One year after the start of her career Betty was united in marriage to Robert L. Brooks on July 22, 1950, they remained lovingly married until his passing on October 21, 1997. Betty is survived by her brother William "Bill" (Carol) Jones of Canajoharie, sisters Dolores Mang of Fort Plain and Ferne Carron of Tribes Hill as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Luella, husband Robert, and beloved beagle "Mitzy." Calling Hours will take place on Thursday March 7, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes 69 Otsego St Canajoharie, NY 13317. Betty will be laid to rest with her husband Robert at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, VT in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
