Ruth G. Hazzard
May 26th, 1919 - October 9th, 2018
Ruth G. Hazzard, 99, of Auriesville Road, Fultonville, passed away on October 9, 2018. Born May 26, 1919 in Gloversville, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Nellie Green. She was a lifelong resident of Fultonville, and the Town of Glen where she attended local schools. Ruth worked for several area glove factories and she retired from the White Mop Wringer Company as a Solderer in 1991. She was a member of the American Legion, Post 0222 for over 60 years and the Fonda- Fultonville United Methodist Church. She loved raising her family through the years and especially enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. On May 29, 1937 she married Bernard Aaron Hazzard, Sr. who passed away in October 24, 1979. She was also predeceased by her great grandson, Patrick Hazzard; eight sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her son, Bernard A. (Pam)Hazzard, Jr. of Fort Plain; her daughter, Sandra Scutt of Fultonville; a sister, Betty Kilmartin of Fort Plain; six grandsons, Bernard G. (Michelle) Hazzard, Brian A. Hazzard,Jason A. (Stephanie) Hazzard, Michael Hazzard, Timothy J. (Becca) Scutt and Joshua V. (Hannah) Scutt; 8 great grandsons, 9 great granddaughters; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday October 15, 2018 at 3 PM, at the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Homes, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072 with the Reverend Thomas Flander officiating. Burial will take place at the Maple Avenue Cemetery in Fultonville. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday October 15, 2018 from 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104 or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas TX 75231 or to Glen Volunteer Fire Department, 134 Auriesville Road, Fultonville, NY 12072.
