Thomas Carr

Thomas Carr, 80, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 13th, 2019, in Westbrook, Maine. He was born July 17, 1938 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Thomas and Anna Clark Carr. On February 7, 1959, he married Pearl Carr, who predeceased him. They shared over fifty-three wonderful years together. He was of the Catholic Faith. Thomas was a kind and empathetic man who was always planning a family adventure. He served in the US Navy and as a New York City Police Department detective. He was a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed. Thomas’ survivors include two sons: Thomas D. Carr (Laurie) of Durham, NC and Donald Carr (Laurel) of Yarmouth, ME; a daughter, Lisa Hammond of Gloversville; four grandchildren: Kerri Ann Chase (Matt), Kaleigh Carr, Thomas Carr and Kevin Carr; and one great-grandchild: Roman Chase. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 18th at 12 p.m. at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas’s memory to the Capital Region American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Drive, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205.
