Richard Henry VanHusen
September 21st, 1929 - September 11th, 2020
Mr. Richard Henry VanHusen, age 90, of Gloversville, passed away on Friday September 11, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. He was born September 21, 1929 in Gloversville, the son of the late Isaac and Mable Demming VanHusen. He was employed as a Crane Operator for General Electric of Schenectady for many years. Richard was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting for moose and other game. His favorite baseball team was the Yankees; he would not miss a game. Richard is survived by three sons, Stuart (Pamela), John and Chris VanHusen; three daughters, Kimberly Mauro, Susan (Steve) Morrison, and Cindy Gendron; a sister in-law Jeanette VanHusen; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members. In addition to both of his parents, Dick was predeceased by his wife Joan VanHusen and a son Richard G. VanHusen. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, Wednesday September 16, 2020 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A Graveside Funeral Service will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery on Thursday September 17, 2020 at 11AM with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. In accordance with COVID-19 restrictions, Facial covering and social distancing will be required at both the funeral home and cemetery services. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of your choice in Richard’s name. Arrangements are entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
