Betz, Rossi Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home - Gloversville
Michael Todd Whitman
December 14th, 1991 - September 17th, 2020
Mr. Michael Todd Whitman, age 28, of Mayfield, passed away on Thursday September 17, 2020 at his home with his mother in Mayfield. He was born December 14, 1991 in Gloversville, and was adopted by the late Robert Whitman and Ingrid Todd Whitman. Becoming his parent’s world and greatest gift possible would not have been possible without their dear friend, Deb Noone’s help. The family would also like to show their appreciation to nurse Sari Stewart for making it possible for them to hold baby Michael at only 2 hours old. Michael attended and graduated from Mayfield schools and later “retired home” due to his medical condition. He enjoyed going on vacations frequently always bringing a friend with him, some of those places he visited include Alaska, Bermuda and Disney World. While on his trips, Michael always like to bring home a souvenir pocket watch or knife to add to his collection. He enjoyed playing video games, watching TV and talking with friends and family about politics and current events in the world. Michael enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife through his window at home. His father Robert always said that when he passed, he would return to visit as a Cardinal. The day after Michael’s passing, Ingrid witnessed an ill young Cardinal joined by its father at the window. After a few visits she witnessed the young Cardinal regain its strength and health, it was at that time Ingrid was assured Michael joined his father as visiting Cardinals. Michael is survived by his mother, Ingrid J. Whitman; his lifetime dear friend, Brendan Hennessy; along with his two dogs, Fuzzy Bear and Luna; his cat Bee and several extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by father Robert Michael Whitman in 2014. Keeping with Michael’s wishes, there will be no formal calling hours or funeral services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern New York at www.neny.wish.org or 3 Washington Square Albany, NY 12205, a charity that Michael was lucky enough to participate in. Arrangements are entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville. Online condolences may be made at www.brbsfuneral.com
