Helen B. Bishop

Helen B. Bishop, age 83, of Gloversville, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown. She was born July 5, 1937 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Corley and Naomi Boyd Andrews. She attended Mount Carmel School, Gloversville, and was of Catholic Faith. Helen worked at the former family-owned Andrews Family Restaurant on E. Fulton St. in Gloversville. She later owned and operated the former Helen's Lunch on S. Market St. in Johnstown for several years. Helen later worked at the Holiday Inn, Johnstown, for many years. She was a member of the Perth Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Willard R. Bishop Sr; a son, Willard R. Bishop Jr. and a brother, Corley William Andrews of Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Lemons and Joan DiScioscia. There will no calling hours or services. Cremation will take place in the spring at Parkview Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
