Marion L. Smith, 84, of Broadalbin, New York, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Marion was born on April 2, 1939 in Ballston Spa to the late Harold Sr. and Sarah (LaRue) Broughton. Marion devoted her life to raising her family. She was a life-long fan of Elvis Presley, and she also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, and WWE wrestling. She also enjoyed playing word puzzles and Yahtzee!, and was always ready to enjoy a cup of coffee. Her loving family includes her children, Leo “Jack” Curry Jr., Patrick (Trish) Curry, Karen Curry, and John (Jaimee) Smith; her children by love, Milton Phillips and Brandie Loucks; her grandchildren, Amber, Mariah, Alyssa, McKenzie, Tatianna, Mercedez, Jordan, Antonio, Tyler, Darianna, Brianna, Kimberly, Jadeyn, Kaylee, Alexis, and Elijah; her brother-in-law, Terry Smith; her loving niece Misty Rae (Gene); her nephews, Matt and Todd Broughton; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aside from her parents, Harold and Sarah, Marion is also preceded in passing by her son, Richard Curry; and by her siblings, Harold “Hoppy” Broughton, Albert Geppner, Ernest Geppner, Laura Slover, Leona Lawrence, Louella Hunt, and Joseph Broughton. Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, NY 12078.
