Andrew Charles Davis, 54, of Fort Johnson, NY, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024 at Kindred Hospital, Dover, NJ. Andy was born on December 30, 1969 in Brooklyn, NY. In 2002 Andy moved to the Paradise Point Lexington house, where he lived for 20 years. In December of 2022, Andy moved in to the Lexington house on County Route 107 in Fort Johnson, where he lived until his passing. Throughout his life, Andy was always very involved in his local community. He kept himself and his family busy with activities through the organizations he was a member of, including the Calico Dancers in South Glens Falls, NY, the William J. Varney Sons of the American Legion in Lake Luzerne, NY, the American Indianist Society in Spencer, MA, and the Gourd Dance Society (Warrior Society). He was incredibly proud of his Scottish heritage, and enjoyed listening to bagpipe music and attending the Scottish Games. One of Andy’s nearest and dearest accomplishments was participating in the Special Olympics of New York. He competed in five sports: Nordic skiing, bowling, swimming, track and field, and equestrian events. Andy will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his athleticism, and his love of all things Celtic. He leaves behind his loving family, including his mother, Judith Eddy of Gansevoort, NY; his uncle, Lawrence Dowe of Nova Scotia; his aunt, Linda Kingman of Boise, ID; as well as many cousins, and his Lexington family. Andy was preceded in passing by his step-father, James A. Eddy, as well as by his aunt, Sharon MacLean. In keeping with Andy’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Andy’s memory to the Special Olympics of New York, 94 New Karner Road, Suite 208 Albany, NY 12203.
