William Davis, 80, known to many as “Uncle Will” passed away peacefully at home in Syracuse, NY on November 10th, 2022. Born in Jacksonville, FL on December 5th, 1941 to the late Charlie and Josephine Davis. William was a 77 year resident of Syracuse NY. He was known well for his gentle demeanor, his love for family, and his occasional conversations with imaginary friends. William loved watching sports on TV, visiting the University area, and listening to Motown Classics. William is predeceased by both his parents; Charlie and Josephine Davis, his brothers Russell Johnson, Freddy Johnson, and Charles Davis; his sisters Edna Mae Brown, Ethel Grant, Willie Mae Johnson, Lovella Walker, and Corrine Davis. He is survived by his sister Vivloria Herring, brother Alphonso Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Home located at 4612 South Salina Street Syracuse, NY, 13205 on Friday, November 18, 2022. Calling hours will be between 11:00-12:00. Services will begin immediately after starting at 12:00. Burial will follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
