Robert "Bob" Lee Snook
April 23rd, 1925 - August 28th, 2018
Robert Lee Snook, 93, of Baldwinsville, New York, passed away in the evening on Tuesday August 28th. Bob grew up in Collmer where he attended school in a one room school house on Molloy road. After leaving school in the 7th grade he found his passion for gardening and farming. Bob started his career working for a greenhouse, then went on to work for A.V. Smith and Simons Farms from 1938 to 1946. During this time Bob was helping build his parent’s house, when Ottis and Oatfield took notice of him and offered him job in construction. He did this for 13 years, which lead to being asked to build cabinets for LaFayette Elementary School. Realizing that carpentry didn’t have the benefits that the school offered, Bob took a job driving school bus and cleaning the school at night. With-in a few short years, Bob became the head custodian for LaFayette Elementary School. This position awarded him excellent benefits and a career spanning 25 years. Upon retirement, Bob worked for W.N. Drucker as a “Mr. Fix it”. Bob was predeceased by his first wife Marion in 1968 and second wife Wilma in 2007; his step-son Gary Newcomb and two sisters Betty Brewster and Virginia Goodfellow. He is survived by his daughter Sheila and son-in-law Dana Rounds; several nephews, nieces and friends. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 4th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Jamesville Community Church, 6300 East Seneca TNPK, Jamesville, New York 13078. There will be a Funeral Service immediately following at 1 PM. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery on Valley Drive in Syracuse.
