Lois Margaret Edith Eggleston
October 16th, 1916 - February 9th, 2020
Lois M. Eggleston, 103, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2020, after a loving visit with family. She was born in 1916, in Syracuse, daughter of the late Julius and Anna (Mielke) Berndt. Lois & her husband Raymond once operated a hearing aid business, and managed rental properties in Binghamton, NY. Lois was the “Rock of Gibraltar”, and a literal source of strength for her family. She actively continued working in retail well into her eighties. After retiring, she settled in Liverpool, NY. Lois was an avid reader, and enjoyed novels, crossword puzzles, cooking, and was a Syracuse sports fan. Mostly, she cherished time with her family. She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond Grant Eggleston; son Duane Raymond Eggleston; brother, Gerald; and sisters, Dora Titus, Helen Dygert, and Emma Ensworth. Lois is the beloved Grandmother of three grandchildren: Brent (Shara) of Mansfield, TX; Chad (Diana) of Frisco, TX; and Traci (Zach) of Honolulu, HI. She is also survived by: sister, Margaret Kenyon of Syracuse; and five Great Grandchildren: Mallery, Jonathan, Evan; and Andie (Brent) & Ashlyn (Chad). Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020, from 11 am to 1 pm, at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow.
