Lester B. Teeter II, 66, of Nedrow, departed this life Friday, July 3, 2020 at Upstate Community Hospital; with his children by his side. He was born in Ithaca, NY in January 1954; the son of Laura A. (Moyer) Teeter, and the late Richard L. Teeter. Lester was a lifelong member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Lester retired from Crucible Steel after 30 years of employment. He served his country in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division, as a SP4. He was a specialist in water purification, and received the National Defense Service Medal for being an expert M16. Lester is survived by: his son, Jeffrey Howard (Christina) Teeter, Sr.; daughter, Jessica Lynn (John) Nearhood; grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jr., Jenna, and Jonah. He is also survived by brothers: David Teeter, Sr., and Raymond Teeter, Sr.; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one brother, Mark Teeter. Calling hours will be held at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse, NY, on Saturday, July 11 from 1 pm to 4 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow. Private burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Online condolences for Lester’s family may be left on the funeral home website.
