Ella Jean Anderson

Ella Jean (Duncan) Anderson passed away peacefully on December 5, 2020. Ella was the daughter of John and Eva (Gilson) Duncan, born on September 10, 1926 in Syracuse, NY. She graduated from Central High School and then Central City Business Institute. Following graduation, she worked as the church secretary for Erwin UMC, leaving that position to raise her family. Once her children were grown, she returned to work becoming the office manager for Central Marketing Equipment, INC. and then the church secretary for St. Paul’s UMC. Ella maintained relationships with her many friends from school, church and her retirement community. Ella was married to her husband Earl for 56 years. He predeceased her in 2005. She is survived by her six children; Dale Smith (Dale), Lynn Roberts, Mark Anderson (Randi), Jean Robinson (Rick), Scott Anderson (Megan) and Carol Matthews (Andy); Nine grandchildren; Lauren, Jake, Gary, Kevin, Julie, Colin, Emma, Cole and Lee; Three great- grandchildren; Nami, Kai and Sadie. Because of the COVID-19 virus, a service celebrating her life will be postponed until it is safe to gather.
