Christina Maria (Lukaszewicz) Hellen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christina Hellen, born November 13, 1955 and passed away on April 30, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. Christina was the beloved daughter of Dr. Joseph and Maria Lukaszewicz. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Syracuse; Solvay High School, class of 1973; and graduated in 1977 from Hamilton College where she concentrated her studies in Philosophy and History of Science. She also studied Art History at the Colegio Mayor Universitario de San Pablo; Cite Internationale Universitaire de Paris; Cultural Studies at King’s College in London; Eastern European Sudies at the Univerytet Jagiellonski in Krakow, Poland; and The Rochester Institute of Technology. Christina was employed by MAC Papers in Tampa, FL in “Specification Sales” for 20 years. She served on The Board of The Florida SIDS Alliance. Christina was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Joseph and Maria Lukaszewicz, her son, Alexander Nelson Ortiz who died in infancy of SIDS, and nephew, Matthews Lukaszewicz. She is survived by her brother, Dr. John Lukaszewicz of Fort Edward, NY, nephew, Michael Lukaszewicz and grandnephew, Miles Lukaszewicz of Brooklyn, NY; and grandnephew, Dylan Lukaszewicz, Corporal U.S. Army.
