Lawrence "Larry" Wilcox Balcomb
May 16th, 1945 - August 6th, 2020
Lawrence W. Balcomb, 75, of Cedarvale, passed away at home on August 6, 2020. After graduating Jamesville-Dewitt High School he went into the U.S. Army, where he served in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret in the Special Forces. Larry retired from Onondaga County after 27 years as a truck driver. He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Bonnie (Wager) Balcomb; children: Mark (Amber) Balcomb, Abby (Scott) Gleason; and four grandchildren: Cassie, Travis, Colin, Sydney. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 11 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, LaFayette. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 12 at 11 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry’s name may be made to: South Onondaga Fire Dept., 3130 Cedarvale Rd., Nedrow, NY 13120. Online condolences for Larry’s family may be left on the funeral home website.
