Isobel G.M. Peters

Isobel (Izzy) G.M. Peters, 80 of Jamesville NY passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 29th, 2024 after a battle with health issues. She slipped away comfortably in the end, which is the way she had wished to part this world. She was a strong and proud woman who always had a kind word and thoughts for others. The world will never see another soul like her. Isobel was a devoted Mother and Grandmother, who through life experiences, offered wisdom and guidance to loved ones. Isobel was born in Scotland and came to the United States in 1963 employed as an au pair in New York City. She was an amateur photographer and loved painting. She was employed by Day Brothers and Danzers for most of her career, and most recently was a supporting member of the Southwood Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed baking and cooking meals for her family and friends, was known for her famous shortbread, and had the loudest whistle you ever heard. Isobel’s passing has left a void in all her loved one’s lives that can only be filled by happy memories and the love of those that knew her. We are comforted that she passed at peace and free of pain. Her memory will forever be in the hearts of her family; Isobel was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Michael Waddell. She is survived by her sisters Sheena and Susan, and her brother Colin, children, Michael and Sue Peters, grandchildren, Tia Huse and Cecelia Robinson. Calling hours will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM on Saturday April 13th at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home 2584 Field Lane, Lafayette, NY 13084.
