Alessio (Al) Matera of Stony Point passed away on April 3, 2019. He was born on May 12, 1935 in New York City to Michael and Kathleen (Quinn) Matera. Al proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He married the love of his life Angelina Vinci on May 22, 1960 in St. Peter’s Church in Haverstraw. Al worked for Chrysler Corp in Orangeburg, NY as warehouse specialist for 29 years. He previously worked for Dexters in Pearl River for 14 years. Al is a retired member of the Knights of Columbus (581) in Haverstraw. Al was predeceased by his sister Marie Radziewski and his daughter Mary Ann Kinzel. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Angelina of Stony Point, NY. His son Michael (Kim) and grandson David Matera of Stony Point, NY. His son-in-law Paul Kinzel and grand-daughters Kayla (Dom) Dillon and Marissa Kinzel of Florida. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, April 7th from 4-8 PM at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial; will be celebrated for Al on Monday, April 8th at 10 AM in Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point with Interment to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Al’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
