Albert J. Lynch passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019. He was 83. Al was born on Oct. 14, 1935 in the Bronx, NY to James and Florence (Martin) Lynch. He was the fourth of five brothers. Al served in the United States Army from 1956-1962. He married Barbara Ann Murray on June 27, 1959. They were married 38 years until her passing in 1997. They bad two boys together: Al and his wife Vicki, and John and his wife Debbie. He had six grandchildren: Kayla, Kristi, Brendan, Shannon, Kerianne and Breana, and 2 great- grandchildren, Mason and Savannah. By marrying Patricia (Felice-DiValentino) on Jan. 28, 1998, his family grew to include sons Anthony DiValentino, Michael DiValentino and Jenn, Joseph DiValentino and daughter Gina (DiValentino) DuBois and husband Dan; 7 grandchildren: Nicholas, JT O’Connell, Cerissa, Dario, Austin, Emma and Alex; 1 great-grandchild, Liam. Al was predeceased by brothers James Jr. and Norman, and survived by brothers Edwin and Allen Lynch and loved by many nieces and nephews. Al worked in the city in the Plumbers Union and as a manager for the Fred F. French Building in Midtown Manhattan. From there he became Director of Building Engineer Dept. at Nyack Nursing Home in Valley Cottage, NY until his retirement. Besides work and family, Al was a committee chairman for Troop 118, Haverstraw, NY Boy Scouts, volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He loved going on cruises with friends, going to OTB for the horse races, doing puzzles and crosswords, and was a season ticket holder for the Rockland Boulders. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Meals on Wheels in Al’s name.
