Daniel A. Serino, Jr.

Daniel A. Serino, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home in Garnerville on March 5th, 2021. Dan, 68, was born on September 5th, 1952 in Yonkers, NY to the late Margaret and Daniel Serino, Sr. Dan graduated from Yonkers High School in 1970 and Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1976 where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. While going to school he worked at Frank’s Auto Service on Nepperhan Ave in Yonkers with his father and uncle doing auto body work where he developed his love for cars, especially Corvettes. Dan was a sports fan who loved the NY Yankees and coaching his kids in basketball and softball. Dan was also an avid weightlifter, golfer, and movie buff and enjoyed spending time at their vacation home in Fort Myers, Florida. He was a licensed private investigator and worked as an insurance adjuster for Compass Investigators & Adjusters for over 35 years. More than anything he was a loving husband, father and ‘papa’. Dan was married to his beloved wife, Christine (Dragoni) for over 40 years. Together they raised their 3 children, Nicole (Joseph) Collins of Thiells, Dana (Philip) Oliveri of White Plains and Daniel Serino, III of North Bethesda, MD. His greatest joy was his four grandchildren, Dylan Serino, Brady and Luke Collins and Ivy Oliveri. He will be missed by all who knew him. Dan is survived by his sisters Marguerite Serino and Marie (Jay) Hvisc, and brother Frank (Ellen) Serino, mother-in-law Sophie Bistany and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 8th, from 4-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 10am, at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla. Given the Covid-19 context, the family understands that those who cannot attend in person are with them there in spirit.
