P. Bruce Pollock, 83, passed away on December 2, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on February 9, 1935 to Reuben Jacob and Leonne (Yapp) Pollock in Madison, WI. Bruce is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Pollock (Norma); and his parents. Bruce is survived by his former wife, Barbara Roberta (Schultz) Pollock; his two daughters, Elizabeth “Liz” Pollock and Margaret “Margot” (John) Schuermann; his step-granddaughter, Daphne Schuermann; his brother Russell (Miriam) Pollock and his sister-in-law Norma (Donald) Pollock. Bruce’s parents, Leonne and “R.J.”, met while enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. They made their home in Wausau, WI where Bruce spent his childhood as the youngest of three sons. Bruce was a self-made man which became apparent early on. When it was time for him to go to college, his parents were already financing his older brothers’ education so he was told he’d have to wait a year. Instead of delaying his enrollment, Bruce put himself through Carroll (College) University by working for a local restaurant and by selling real estate. He was also a weather man at the radio station on campus. In 1957, Bruce graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology with minors in Business and Psychology. The following fall, he was enrolled at Marquette University Law School but he’d been bitten hard by the real estate bug in college, which changed the course of his career. Instead of attending Law School, Bruce opened his own real estate company creating a reputation and success in home sales that was the envy of other Waukesha County realtors. He was also the first realtor in Waukesha to establish two-way radio contact with his sales associates – a newsworthy event in the 1960s. During his career, Bruce was also a landlord and land developer leaving behind a proud legacy of apartment buildings and homes in the Waukesha community. Along with his passion for real estate, Bruce had a love of flying and old Lincolns. He also enjoyed dabbling in the stock market, taking fishing trips to Canada, watching WWII documentaries and intellectual pursuits including learning Spanish and studying for his pilot instrument rating later in life. He was also an active member of several organizations including the AOPA, Bonanza Society and Lions Club. Throughout his life, Bruce was also a dedicated father and son, taking very good care of his mom and dad in their declining years. The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 19th at Salem United Methodist Church in Waukesha 541 Hwy 59, Waukesha, WI 53186 Visitation is from 3:30 – 5:00 with a service lead by Rev. Paola Benecchi to follow. The family is requesting donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
