Norma J Mielke
August 3rd, 1931 - January 6th, 2024
Norma Jean Mielke (nee Schiff), affectionately known as "Jeanie," passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the age of 92. Born in Rockwell, Iowa, on August 3, 1931, Norma led a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and service to others. After 30 years of service Norma retired as a machinist/secretary from Allis Chalmers on May 31, 1981, after dedicating years of hard work and commitment. She was a cherished member of the Sussex VFW Post Auxiliary and a devoted participant at Galilee Lutheran Church in Pewaukee. Norma had a special fondness for birds and was known for her competitive skills as a sheepshead player. She had a great love for cooking for her family, dogs, music, and flowers. A very strong loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and an all-around beautiful person, Norma touched the lives of many. She selflessly served as a Waukesha County Human Service volunteer for 20 years, leaving an indelible mark on the community she held dear. Norma is survived by her loving children, Connie (Lenard) Sedivy, Joyce A. Mikulice, and grandchildren Tammy, William, Michael C., Janelle (Bryan), great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Creighton V., sons Michael V. and Creighton O. “J R”, parents Burnell and Meta Schiff (nee Hayes) and siblings Maude Klima,Robert Schiff, Roland Schiff, Lois Hill, Emil (Bud) Schiff. A visitation to celebrate Norma's life will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Galilee Lutheran Church N24W26430 Crestview Dr, Pewaukee, WI 53072 from 12:30pm until the start of services at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Galilee Lutheran. Join us as we gather to honor and remember a remarkable woman who touched our lives with kindness, generosity, and love. Norma's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. The family would like to thank the staff at the Avalon Square Assisted Living and Angels Grace Hospice for all the love and compassion that they used when taking care of our mother. Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home is serving the family.
