Carl A. Kent, a lifelong resident of the town of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Tuesday September 2, 2014, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family. Carl was born on April 23, 1926 in Poynette, the son of Charles and Anna Kent. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII in Europe. On November 1, 1947, he married Ruth M. Corby and they shared 66 years of marriage. Carl worked for Ball Motor Services (Sentry Foods) as a delivery driver for 42 years. Dancing, camping, traveling, gardening and being with his family were many of the activities he enjoyed. Carl was member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and enjoyed ushering. Carl is survived by his wife Ruth; son Larry Kent (Dian Winter) of Fond du Lac; daughter, Laura Pazdernik (Joe) of Ironwood, MI; grandchildren, Tara Rae Kent of Arvada, CO, Lindsey Kent Nelson (Adam) of Fond du Lac, Kelly Kent of Fond du Lac, Kyle Efferding (Carol) of Eagle and Leah Efferding Tuft of Waukesha and David Kindred of Oshkosh; great grandchildren who he adored, Kaitlyn, Kaeden, Kingston, Gavin, Dylon, Kendall, Susie and Brady. He is further survived by two brothers. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters and daughter-in-law, Susan Chitwood Kent. The visitation for Carl will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the 12:00 P.M. funeral service at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St. Waukesha, WI 53186. Pastor Gary Liedtke will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carl's name are appreciated to St. Luke's Lutheran Church (See address above) or a charity of donor's choice. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caregivers and friends at Waukesha Springs and Waukesha Memorial Hospital for the care they gave to Carl.
