John S. Dewane
October 18th, 1970 - August 14th, 2014
John S. Dewane, A.K.A. Conga John, of Waukesha, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the age of 43. John was born in Milwaukee on October 18, 1970, the son of Ronald and Joan Dewane. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. John worked at a variety of jobs including, U.P.S., Quad Graphics, U.S. Cellular, was a teacher on a Native American Indian Reservation, and most recently was a caregiver for his aging parents. He was an artist, skilled at woodworking with a lathe and making music with the congas. John played music for Mass, for the disabled, at various outings and volunteered at many places, including Summerfest. He was a three-sport athlete, playing baseball, football, basketball, and most recently, softball. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and also liked trivia. John also enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing. He had a great sense of humor, was a wonderful neighbor and could make friends with anyone. John was a loving and gentle soul. John will be dearly missed by his siblings, Judy (Janice Maneke) Dewane of DeForest, WI, Tim (Nancy) Dewane of Waterford, WI and Dennis (Carlene) Dewane of Liverpool, NY; his girlfriend and soulmate, Monika Sobierajski; nephews and godsons, Adam and Dante Dewane; one niece and other nephews, Megan, Tony, Alex and Devin; his dog and loyal companion, Dee Dee; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Joan Dewane; and maternal and paternal grandparents. The visitation for John will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the 4:30 P.M. Memorial Mass at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI. 53188. The Rev. Curt Frederick will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name are preferred to St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI. 53188, or to N.A.M.I. (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Waukesha, 217 Wisconsin Ave, Suite 300, Waukesha, WI. 53186.
