Kenneth "Ken" L. Detro
November 8th, 1928 - March 3rd, 2014
Ken L. Detro of Waukesha went home to the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the age of 85 years. He was born on Nov. 8, 1928 in Milw., WI the son of LeRoy and Violet (nee Lof) Detro. Ken married Patricia Treder on Jan. 5, 1952. He was a longtime member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church; Ken graduated from U.W. Whitewater with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1950 and a Master's Degree in Education in 1968 from Marquette University. Ken was a teacher at MATC from 1962 until 1968; he was also a counselor at WCTC until 1989. Ken will be sadly missed by his wife, Patricia, of 62 years; his children, Curtis Detro, Jeffrey (Cynthia) Detro and Terri (James) Bomier; his grandchildren, Christopher Bomier, Philip Bomier, Tim (Kathy) Detro, Sarah Detro, Lynn (Travis) Lovrine, Benjamin Detro and Julie (Craig) Fedoryshyn; His great-grandchildren, Allison Lovrine, Natalie Lovrine, Jenna Detro, Nora Detro and Andrew Detro. Ken is further survived by a brother Glenn Detro, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Paul Bomier, daughter-in-laws Janet and Margaret Detro and sister-in-law, Shirley Detro. The visitation for Ken will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 Noon Funeral Service on Sat., March 8, 2014, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1941 Madison St. Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Robert Frick and Rev. Michael Turriff will be officiating. The burial will take place privately at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ken's name to Mt.
